Buzz Juice – Healthy Energy Juice

Buzz juice

In this recipe, the tropical fruits alone would make a truly wonderful Pick-me-up Juice, but once you add guarana, you’ll be buzzing. The Rain Forest Indians in Brazil discovered guarana, and I’ve learned what a wonderful energy-giver this strange berry can be. Guarana isn’t a quick shot in the arm and a let-down half an hour later; it supplies is a slow release of energy over several hours (you can find it in most good health-food shops). To make Buzz Juice, juice all fruits except the banana (look for mangosteens in supermarkets in season), then liquidize with the banana, guarana extract and a handful of ice cubes. Drink immediately.

Mango 1 peeled, without stone

guava 1, peeled

passion-fruit 1, flesh scooped into juicer

mangosteen 1, cut in half, flesh scooped into juicer

banana 1, peeled

guarana 15 ml of extract

Vital statistics:

Super-rich in Vitamin C, Carotenoids and potassium. Contains B Vitamins and folic acid. All the tropical fruits supply antioxidants and are highly protective, but they also contain an abundance of natural enzymes. These substances speed up the healing process after surgery or injury; they also stimulate the immune system, and some are involved in the conversion of carbohydrates into usable energy for the body. It’s impossible to feel low for long once you start to get THE BUZZ from this unique and beautifully flavoured drink
