Energy Drinks – The Big-Event Juice Plan

The big event could be anything from a wedding, a public performance, or starting a new job – anything that is potentially stressful. As well as taking the suggested drinks to help you through, consider the following strategies:

  • Delegate responsibility and chores where possible. Leave yourself free to focus on the event and your personal preparation.
  • Cut down on stimulants, such as coffee, cola drinks, and cigarettes, as well as alcohol. While these things may give you a little boost and seem to help you through trying times, in the end they will just make you more jittery and debilitated, as well as rob your body of vital nutrients.
  • Eat. When we are stressed or nervous, we tend to get “butterflies” in the stomach, which suppresses the appetite. You may also feel that you do not have time to prepare food and eat it. It is very important to keep the body nourished during times of stress or anxiety as now more than ever you need to perform and function to the best of your ability.
  • Try to be a day ahead of yourself. When planning a big event such as a wedding, schedule everything that needs to be done one day in advance where possible, giving you the day before the event to relax. This sounds good in theory although invariably last — minute things will crop up. But it will give you a day to deal with them — and hopefully, a chance to take a little time out.

Pineapple, Ginger and Lemon Juice

This zingy juice gives a good start to the day and provides the digestion — stimulating properties of pineapple and ginger, helping you to cope with food if you are very nervous. Ginger also settles nausea, which can be a side effect of extreme anxiety.

Watermelon Cooler Afternoon

Watermelon Cooler

This cooling drink will refresh and soothe an overwrought mind and body, and rehydrate you if you have been neglecting to drink lots of water.

Before bed

Warm Spiced Milk

This drink is very nurturing and comforting, and will have you feeling drowsy in no time. Avoid stimulation in the evening, and try to do some relaxation techniques before bed, even if it just telling yourself to “let it all go”. Have a light dinner, then a warm bath, drink your milk, and go to bed early.
