Fruity Blueberry and Cranberry Drink Recipe
This is another extremely high-ORAC protective drink which, thanks to the cranberries, is also great for anyone with cystitis. For those with recurrent urinary infections, it is preventative as well as therapeutic.
Like all the dark-coloured berries, the natural pigments provided in every glass will supply valuable amounts of essential nutrients and protective phytochemicals.
115g or 4oz frozen cranberries
115g or 4oz fresh or frozen raspberries
100g or 31/2oz fresh blueberries
200ml or 7fl oz chilled sparkling mineral water
1. Defrost the frozen fruit.
2. Put all the ingredients through a, or whizz in a or food processor until smooth.
3. Add the mineral water to taste.
Cranberries contain a natural form of vegetable mucilage which lines the walls of the urinary tract and bladder and prevents bacteria from growing on the surface of these tissues. As well as large quantities of vitamin C and antioxidant plant chemicals, you’ll also get potassium for the heart, and carotenoids for healthy skin and eyes, together with a powerful boost to your immune system.
