Slimming Juice Drink – Plum Tomatoes
What a Plum!
This is tomato juice with a difference. It mixes the traditional Mediterranean flavours of tomato and basil with the sharpness of lemon juice, the sweetness of carrot, and the distinctive taste of celery.
It is a real morning eye-opener and makes an interesting alternative to the usual breakfast fruit juices. It’s not only refreshing and cleansing, but an enormously rich source of a wide range of nutrients.
4 large, ripe plum tomatoes
1 stick celery, with leaves
1 handful basil
Juice of 1 lemon
Freshly ground black pepper
1. Wash the first four ingredients.

Apart from the obvious betacarotene in the tomatoes and carrot, you’ll get masses of potassium, lots of vitamins C and E, folic acid, and magnesium from this drink. Celery is a mild diuretic and will help get rid of excessive fluid, while basil is one of the best of all the calming, mood-enhancing culinary herbs.
